New Future in store for Plaza Midwood’s Historic Barnhardt-Cramer Estate
The historic Barnhardt-Cramer House, located in the heart of Charlotte’s historic Plaza Midwood neighborhood will soon have a new beginning. The house was recently designated as a local historic landmark and could soon be under contract. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission may vote at its meeting next Monday night (February 13th) to purchase the house. If the Commission purchases the property, this would ensure the preservation and ultimate protection of the historic house.
The house is one of the largest and best preserved examples in Charlotte of an architect-designed house prior to WWII. Boyer designed the house in a blended style of Art Moderne and Colonial Revival.
