There’s so much going on in Charlotte this year!
First off there’s one of NASCAR’s most popular races, the Coca Cola 600… tons of events, like Speed Street and autograph signings from your favorite drivers. And don’t forget my favorite, backyard cookouts with friends and family (and of course a few beers). Many of Charlotte’s neighborhood pools will be opening for the season and we all know Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time for a dip in the pool! It’s definite, this weekend kicks off summer just right! And Memorial Day weekend is busy this year in Charlotte!!!!

Speed Street 600
Taking place May 24-27 in the streets of Uptown, Speed Street features appearances, autograph sessions and demonstrations from some of NASCARs best drivers and pit crews. The festival will also feature great live music. Even if youre not a NASCAR fan, youll enjoy Speed Street!
NASCAR Coca-Cola 600
NASCAR is heavily entrenched in Charlotte, with the majority of NASCAR teams and drivers making their homes here. Two of the years most anticipated events always hit Charlotte around Memorial Day. Sunday, May 27 will mark the 53rd running of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Spraygrounds
Every Memorial Day weekend, Charlotte parks open up their spraygrounds. These small park with water spouts and splash areas are great for kids to cool off! Nevin Park, Cordelia Park, Latta Park, Veterans Park and West Charlotte Recreation Center Park all have spraygrounds. So head out with the kids for some cool fun this weekend!
